The amount of spaghetti you need depends on how much servings are you making. In this cooking, a serving of 200g of spaghetti is used (enough for 3 adults). You can use more if you like. The use of parsley helps to produce sweet like aroma when making the sauce. A pinch or two is used in the making of this meal.
You can make your homemade sauce for your spaghetti carbonara on your spare time if you like. However, in this meal, we are using 1 can of carbonara sauce from Prego. It’s easier and faster to prepare the sauce.
Mushrooms are one of the well-known ingredients in spaghetti. Here, we need 4 pieces of button mushrooms which are then cut into half. Fresh mushrooms gives a different taste and wonderful aroma when added into your cooking. In this meal, we’re using 3 pieces of fresh mushrooms that are cut into half.
Capsicums have a lot of vitamin C and A. A green capsicum is also prepared in a serving of 15 gram that is cut into small cubes. Red capsicum gives sweeter taste due to their more natural sugar than green capsicum. We also use 15 gram of red capsicum that is cut into small cubes.
Olive oil adds a heart-healthy fat and is good for your health compared to other cooking oils. We recommend using 1-2 tbsp. of olive oil when preparing this meal. A pinch of sugar is added to give a little sweetness to the taste. The use of sugar (in moderation) is recommended to maintain your overall health.
Aside from a pinch of sugar, we will also add in a pinch of salt as part of the recommended seasoning to enhance the overall taste. Similar to the use of sugar, you are also advised to use salt in moderation when seasoning your meals.
Finally a dash of white pepper is used to give a little spicy taste. It also helps to enhance the aroma of your meal.
